PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION:
ARTICLE 3: To carry out scientific researches and implementations through professionals, to perform the works listed under the Part on the Activities of the Foundation and to spread them in order to solve the increasing problems of the aged society by obtaining permission from competent authorities in necessary cases.
ACTIVITIES OF THE FOUNDATION:
ARTICLE 4: In order to attain its purpose, the Foundation carries out the following activities.
a. Meeting the health requirements of the aged society by making use of all kinds of means and facilities made available by modern medicine and providing solutions to such kind of problems which are gradually growing and commissioning of scientific researches and professionals and as a result, helping the old people as a priority,
b. Providing means of performance of researches necessary for diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases which are peculiar to the old aged and cause visible dameges and physical disabilities in the patients for lack of timely diagnosis and applying the contemporary methods in this respect with regard to the geriatric subjects.
c. Providing in patient treatment for the geriatric patients in addition to their out-patient check-ups; providing rehabilitation and training / education for disabilities stemming from the related cases of complication,
d. Buying and building locations where outpatient and in patient treatment can be provided to geriatric patients and scientific researches can be made in this respect.
e. Providing necessary materials and man power including training and development.
f. Establishing health establishments such polyclinics and laboratories, making contributions to the ones alrady established, cooperating with them and upbringing and training nurses, health and technical staff for these establishments.
g. Heaving cooperation with the geriatric departments of hospitals and the basic disciplinary branches of the universities operating in both Turkey and the World in connection with the clinical studies and other activities in the field of geriatrics.
h. Conducting scientific education / training and researches in the field of geriatrics, having publications about them, organising seminars and scientific meetings, supporting local and international scientific education / training and research projects, providing scholarships to students, awarding prizes to those successful in their fields with distinguished grades, extending assistance to academicians for their advanced studies related to the subject.
i. Providing services to humanity and environment, particularly the old aged and carrying out joint service projects in collaboration with local administrations and municipalities, establishments and organisations and NGOs (Non-governmental Organisations)
j. Establishing and operating under suitable conditions local and overseas rehabilitation and tourist facilities so that the old society, which has been gradually increasing in the recent years, can have vacation and recreation in a proper manner allowing for their health.
k. Importing, buying and selling instruments and other materials necessary to meet the requirements of geriatric patients.
l. Delivering conferences, setting up dialysis locations, hospitals and care units and providing services to groups of any ages in need of health service, particularly for the old aged.
m. Establishing social facilities and promoting activities for diffusion of national and moral values on condition that the cultures of the regions concerned are observed as far as the educational establishments the foundation aims to open locally and internationally are concerned and further provided that the principles and revolutions of Atatürk and the purposes of the Foundation are strictly adhered to
n. Further, in order to realise its purposes, the Foundation can cooperate with local and foreign persons and establishments, undertake joint projects and can receive donations locally or internationally, which are in the form of cash and in kind as moveables and real estate.
o. Establishing and runnig day and boarding care centres in accordance with their proper purposes and providing in-house health services to patients in need of care.
p. Establishing campuses for the old aged, opening and runnig recreational camps and sports facilities and suitable resting centres that will also provide rehabilitation in compliance with the purposes of the foundation.
q. Setting up teams for health requirements that may arise in both local and overseas extraordinary circumstances (fire, earthquake, flood, etc.) and to provide training for them so that they can serve in such circumstances and also providing material supplies in addition to ensuring that such a team can provide services in such disasters.
